Kayak capsize recoveries such as rolling are among the most sought-after skills in paddle sports. In our Kayak Rolling Refresher class we will build upon what has been learned in the Progression class. In this pool kayak rolling class, we will work to connect the missing link between your body, boat and blade to help you come upright.
Our coaches are supportive and break the skills down into their parts so the students gain a full understanding of each technique.
Foundation courses develop good body awareness, balance, and understanding of how the boat and paddle interact with the water. Learning to roll is a key foundation skill.
In this pool kayak class we will spend time developing a solid understanding of what your body needs to do in order to recover from an off-balanced position whether it is slight or a complete capsize. We will help you develop solid foundations for successful practice.
You will need to bring a kayak, paddle, skirt, and PFD. Footwear is not required, but if you do bring them make sure they are clean. Nose plugs and goggles are also helpful for spending a lot of time upside down.
