This is a Kayak Rolling Intro Class.
In the Kayak Rolling intro class, we will be introducing the fundamentals of kayak rolling to those who are brand new to rolling and those who want to get a refresher on the basics. If you want a more in-depth version of this class, see our Rolling Progression course! Capsize recoveries such as rolling are among the most sought-after skills in paddle sports.
Our coaches are supportive and break the skills down into their parts, so the students gain a full understanding of each technique.
Foundation courses develop good body awareness, balance, and understanding of how the boat and paddle interact with the water. Learning to roll is a key foundation skill.
In this pool kayak class, we will spend time developing a solid understanding of what your body needs to do in order to recover from an off-balanced position whether it is slight or a complete capsize. We will help you develop solid foundations for successful practice.
You will need to bring a kayak, paddle, skirt, and PFD. Footwear is not required, but if you do bring them make sure they are clean. Nose plugs and goggles are also helpful for spending a lot of time upside down.
