Reyn Hutten

Coach, Explorer

Reyn spent her younger days in the coastal forests and beaches of northwestern Washington (not far from the San Juans!) and in the Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska, swimming in freezing water and playing in boats big and small. Through expeditions in the Bay of Fundy to rock gardening in Mexico and Iceland, she has become captivated by kayaking and galvanized by the kayak community and a student-centered learning model.

Reyn is determined there is no wrong way to engage with sea kayaking (as long as it’s safe!) and is dedicated to making kayaking accessible, approachable, and fun throughout the whole learning journey. She has a curious and excitable soul and loves noticing the little things about the water and its creatures and sharing them with others. This led her to complete a degree in ecology and earth sciences at Dartmouth College. When not on the water, she explores the mountains through biking and climbing, creatively cooking, or tinkering!”
