Assessments measure your abilities at different levels of your development. Assessments
help students set goals, gain clear understanding of skill sets to either reinforce or
improve upon. Assessments also motivate practice, accelerate learning, and match paddlers
with similar skills. Body Boat Blade has one of the most skilled and highest rated assessing
teams in North America. We can assess the Star and Coaching Awards listed below.

BCU 3 STAR AWARD DATES: Please call the office for dates. 360-376-5388 PREREQUISITES: BCU 2 Star Award LEARNING TRACK: Body Boat Blade course, Performance Paddling, Forward Stroke clinic, 5 Day Camp, Ocean Currents, and a Rolling clinic, plus sufficient time on the water honing your skills. BCU CANOE SAFETY TEST PREREQUISITES: BCU 2 Star Award Assessment of Canoe Safety Test is completed as part of the training. LEARNING TRACK: Safety and Rescue, Body Boat Blade BCU COACH LEVEL 1 ASSESSMENT PREREQUISITES: BCU 2 Star Award, BCU Canoe Safety Test, up-to-date First Aid and CPR Certificates, BCU Membership, approved C-1 form, BCU Coach Level 1 Training. LEARNING TRACK: Body Boat Blade, Foundation Skills BCU COACH LEVEL 2 ASSESSMENT PREREQUISITES: BCU Canoe Safety course, BCU 3 Star Award, up-to-date First Aid and CPR Certificates, Comprehensive BCU membership, approved C-1 form, BCU Coach Level 2 Training, and appropriate observation hours. LEARNING TRACK: Body Boat Blade, Performance paddling, Forward Stroke Clinic, Rolling, Safety and Rescue, and lots of time on the water. BCU COACH LEVEL 3 SEA ASSESSMENT PREREQUISITES: BCU Coach Level 2 Award, BCU 4 Star Sea Award, Comprehensive BCU Membership, up-to-date First Aid and CPR certificates, up-to-date BCU Log Book, approved C-1 Form, BCU Coach Level 3 Training, and appropriate observation hours. LEARNING TRACK: Body Boat Blade, Performance paddling, Forward Stroke Clinic, Rolling, Safety and Rescue, 5 Day Camp, Ocean Currents, San Juan Currents, Open Coast, lots of time on the water, attend symposiums.
